Originally part of the Spanish land grant forming Rancho Santa Ana del Chino, the city was incorporated in 1910.  The Chino Valley was the number one dairy area in the United States.  The area also specialized in orchard and row crops, thus the city motto "Where everything grows". 

Today commercial and industrial growth has been significant.  New homes are "sprouting" up in the area once known as the dairy preserve.   

Balanced growth, while maintaining the cultural heritage and hometown atmosphere make Chino a great place to call home.

Chino Hills was incorporated as a city in 1991.  Chino Hills is well known for its' high quality of life and beautiful rural atmosphere.  Although Chino Hills is a newer city, it was ranked #68 by Money Magazine, in 2005, as one of the "100 Best Places to Live in the United States". 

The community, with its' growing population of 78,971, boasts 3,000 acres of publicly owned open space, 40 parks, 39 miles of trails, and five community buildings. 

Enjoy Chino Hills newest crown jewel:  the Chino Hills Community Park!  The new 33 acre site has six ball fields, with five overlay soccer fields, a concession stand and two restroom buildings. 

Chino Hills residents can enjoy the summer concerts in the park!  This summertime tradition is held at Crossroads Park.  Always a crowd pleaser!

The city was also designated the 21st safest city in the United States when the result of the 13th annual Safest City Awards were released on October 30th, 2006 by Morgan Quinto Press, a Lawrence, Kansan-based publishing and research company.  The award is based on a city's rate for six basic crime categories: murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assualt, burglary and motor vehicle theft.  All cities of 75,000+ populations that reported crime data to the FBI for the six crime categories were included in the rankings.
